As Policy Officer, the successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Policy, anticipating, analyzing, and helping shape EU initiatives in energy systems: Innovative renewables, clean firm power, grids, long duration and thermal energy storage.
The responsibilities include the following tasks:
- Monitor and analyze EU electricity market design reforms and Member States’ implementation, including capacity mechanisms, renewable support schemes (e.g. two-sided CfDs, PPAs, auctions), and state aid frameworks.
- Conduct comparative quantitative and qualitative analysis of national electricity market structures, and policy and investment frameworks to identify best practices and regulatory gaps.
- Provide timely and well-researched insights on energy policy, collaborating closely with FCA’s Cleantech Analyst team to integrate technical findings into policy recommendations.
- Develop a range of policy and advocacy documents, including reports, policy briefs, and amendments, in line with FCA’s focus areas.
- Work with the Communications Team to develop effective messaging for policy documents and author articles, blog posts, presentations, and other relevant materials.
- Participate in coalitions and projects related to the energy systems (e.g. EU geothermal policy)
- Contribute to the organization of events that convene EU institutions, policymakers, innovators, and industry representatives, to advance impactful policy interventions.
